NEW vs. USED
(New) Single Use:
It is rare to acquire brand new containers; most containers referred to as “new” are not “brand new”, but actually single-use containers, which means they have had a one-time use for shipping a load from overseas. By allowing a shipper to use the container for a single load, rather than ship it empty, our cost of a new container is reduced significantly, and these savings are reflected in the price to you. Note: One-trip (new) containers typically hold their resell value better than most used containers.
(Used) As is:
Container may have some damage which may require repair.
*Containers meeting IICL 5 standards generally are of a better quality than containers showing as just cargo worthy. IICL5 (The Institute of International Container Lessors – 5 Edition): This is an international standard that mainly governs how a container is being repaired as well as the depth of a dent and how many there can be right after each other. IICL5 containers are often a little younger than a cargo worthy container.
