Closing and locking a shipping container used for storage on your property can help keep your belongings secure. Here are the general steps you can follow to close and lock a shipping container:
- Close the doors: Ensure that both doors of the container are fully closed.
- Insert the locking bars: Most shipping containers come with locking bars that fit into holes on the container doors. Insert these locking bars into the holes on the left-hand door first and then on the right-hand door.
- Padlock the container: Once the locking bars are in place, insert a padlock through the holes in the locking bars. Use a heavy-duty padlock that is difficult to cut or break.

- Secure additional locks: If you have any additional locks, such as a security hasp, you can use them to add extra security to the container.
